3 jazz legends

Michel Backès, Dominique Maurizi, Franck Médioni, Julia Perrin
A bouncy trumpet, a warm voice with bursts of honey, a frantic guitar… all that jazz ! Louis Armstrong, Billie Holiday and Django Reinhardt invented jazz and its landscapes. Three legends to discover a music with a universal accent.
  • Michel Backès began drawing at an early age; he has illustrated numerous books for the young, notably for the publisher Seuil and for L’école des loisirs. He is curious about everything and enjoys jazz very much.

  • Dominique Maurizi Writer and artist, Dominique Maurizi is the authoress of stories, short stories, and books of poetry, published notably by Albertine and Isolato. Dominique Maurizi also paints, draws, and takes photographs.

  • Franck Médioni is a journalist, writer, and producer of the “Jazzistiques” program on France Musique. He is the author of several books on music and jazz.

  • Julia Perrin Having recently graduated as a graphic artist, Julia Perrin’s work is nourished by images and travel. She uses here her talent to tell us visually about the life of Catherine Kousmine and that of Georges Méliès.
